Calculating Child Support

Both parents are responsible for supporting their child(ren). The State of California uses “Child Support Guidelines” to determine the amount of financial support to be paid. California Child Support Guidelines considers the income and certain expenses of the custodial and non-custodial parents to calculate a net income, and then determines a percentage of the net income to be paid as support. The final amount to be paid will be determined by a Judge.
